What is laser therapy?

Laser therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light to stimulate the body’s natural ability to heal.  Our Class IV Laser is equipped with the highest power available for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and pain. Its effects include increased blood flow, decreasing inflammation, and facilitating healing. It does this by stimulating enzymes and processes that increase ATP production and cell growth, stimulate intracellular activity, and catalyze the mitochondria.

Laser therapy has proven clinically effective for the facilitation of healing for:

Fractures

Sprains and Strains

Tendonitis

Wounds

Post Surgical Healing

Disc Injury

Nerve Injury (including Neuropathy)

Why laser therapy?

Laser therapy has been shown to increase blood flow, decrease pain, and facilitate the healing of injured muscles, tendons, bones, and joints.
Laser Therapy uses light to accelerate the body’s natural healing processes. Our therapeutic laser stimulates cellular activity, which accelerates cell growth and reproduction. This is highly effective for treating soft tissue injuries like sprains, strains, tendonitis, tendinopathy, and plantar fasciitis, but has also shown excellent results for repairing bone injuries such as fractures and arthritis.
What makes our laser therapy unique?

At Dr Mitch Total Health laser therapy clinic we use a Class Four laser. Class Four lasers offer the highest power output available, which allows us to deeply penetrate the skin and maximize the effect we can have, and facilitate healing of muscle, bone, tendon, or joints.

Our particular Class Four laser uses 60 watt laser diodes to deliver the highest power available with a super pulsed technology This patented technology allows us to treat over areas with metal implants such as Total Knee and/or Total Hip Replacements safely.

In addition, our laser offers hand-held delivery options, so we can safely treat over open wounds such as post-surgical incisions, or diabetic ulcers safely and effectively.
How does laser therapy work?

Light waves penetrate the skin and stimulate processes within the cells that support cell health and recovery such as increased blood flow and tissue regeneration and repair, creating the perfect healing environment.

Laser therapy catalyzes your body’s own healing mechanisms, so although healing is initiated in the treatment session, your cells will be working hard to improve your recovery for many hours after your treatment.

The effects of laser are cumulative, kind of like an antibiotic, so you will usually see the best results if you can layer multiple treatment sessions within a single week for the first few weeks of laser therapy.
Benefits of laser therapy

Laser therapy is a scientifically proven, fast, and non-invasive alternative to drug therapy or surgery to address both acute and chronic pain, inflammation, and injury. It aids in improving circulation, increasing blood flow, decreasing inflammation, and encouraging the repair of cells in muscles, tendons, and joints. We have seen amazing results in a wide range of patients, from those with chronic pain and neuropathy to professional athletes who use it for anything from expediting return to play from an injury or prophylactic uses for muscle recovery.
